About Rafael

Dr. Rafael is a cardiologist specializing in interventional and preventive cardiology. He completed his medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at Emory University Hospital. He went on to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at both Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Ohio State University Hospital.

Dr. Rafael is board certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), with additional subspecialty certifications in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.

His clinical interests include interventional cardiology and preventive cardiology, with a strong focus on evidence-based, patient-centered care.

When he’s not working, Dr. Rafael enjoys running, traveling, spending time with his family, and studying economics and the delivery of cost-effective health care.
