About Laughlin

Dr. James Laughlin, FACC, FHRS, is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in heart rhythm disorders, with subspecialty certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. He serves patients at St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon, where he helped establish the Heart Rhythm Cardiology program after moving to Central Oregon in 2007.

Dr. Laughlin earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, graduating in 2000. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, followed by fellowships in general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at the same institution.

His clinical interests include heart rhythm cardiology an the management of arrhythmias with pacemakers, defibrillators, and catheter ablation, as well as general cardiology.

Outside of work, Dr. Laughlin enjoys skiing, cycling, playing golf and competing in triathlons.
