Lauren Habel is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner on the inpatient rehabilitation team at St. Charles. She brings nearly two decades of clinical experience in intensive care, emergency medicine, urgent care and rehabilitation.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Lauren began her nursing career in the ICU in 2005 and has practiced in Texas, Arizona and Alaska before making Central Oregon her home in 2014. She earned her Master of Science in nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2018 through a dual-role nurse practitioner program.
Lauren is passionate about supporting patients through their recovery journey, with a clinical focus on geriatric care and helping individuals regain function and independence after illness or injury. She is committed to collaborative, patient-centered care and values the role of interdisciplinary teamwork in achieving successful outcomes.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys exploring Central Oregon with her two young children. She is an avid film photographer and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and paddleboarding.
