About Larkin

Tara originally majored in anthropology and wanted to be a museum curator when she grew up. After a summer internship doing data entry in a dusty museum basement, she changed course and eventually found her way to health care. She earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Washington in 2010. After working in hospitals in the Seattle area for nearly a decade, she and her family relocated to Central Oregon.

Tara has worked across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient settings, but most enjoys the opportunity to work with patients and their families in the intensive inpatient rehabilitation setting. She is skilled in dysphagia assessment and intervention, including modified barium swallow studies. Her particular area of interest is the assessment and treatment of language and cognitive-communication disorders.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and their two children.
