Anthony Hinz, MD

“I became an orthopedic surgeon because of my passion for musculoskeletal anatomy and desire to make a difference in people’s lives as a doctor.”

Dr. Hinz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with expertise in foot and ankle disorders and volumes of experience in trauma. He incorporates a comprehensive approach to prevention, treatment, and management of orthopedic injuries including conservative options such as custom-made orthotics, bracing, physical therapy and surgery when needed.

Dr. Hinz was a running back for the New England Patriots, until a severe knee injury his first year derailed his professional sports ambitions and awakened an interest in sports medicine. Born in Minneapolis, Dr. Hinz took his BS degree from Harvard University and moved to the Pacific Northwest to obtain his medical degree at the University of Washington. Dr. Hinz completed his surgical residency, at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas. He then returned to the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for his foot and ankle fellowship. He joined St. Charles’ team of expert physicians in 1999.

Dr. Hinz is happy to be living in Bend where he enjoys golf, tennis, running, hunting, fishing and skiing, and spending time with his two daughters, son and his wife.
