“It’s very fulfilling to be able to make a difference in people’s lives. Restoring patients to their pre-injury state so they can enjoy activities again inspires me.”
Matthew Lilley, MD is a board certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon who is sub-specialty trained in the evaluation and treatment of advanced shoulder and knee injuries and conditions. A native of Central Oregon, he became interested in medicine at a young age after working on a hay farm in Tumalo with a local general surgeon. His early experiences and desire to help people shaped the way he practices medicine today. He takes the time to understand his patients and their backgrounds, learn about what motivates them to get back outdoors, and then develops a treatment plan to return them to their previous activities and fitness. In his practice, he particularly enjoys minimally invasive shoulder arthroscopy, complex rotator cuff repair, and knee ligament reconstruction, in addition to robotic knee replacement.
Dr. Lilley is thrilled to be practicing medicine in his hometown and thoroughly enjoys his practice. He has a passion for the outdoors and spending time outside with his wife and son. Outside of work, he enjoys backpacking, skiing and distance running. Dr. Lilley is also an instrument rated pilot and has appreciated the opportunity to fly to regional clinics in Central and Eastern Oregon and provide care to patients around our state.
