  1. Explain with insight regarding the pathophysiology, diagnostic elements, testing algorithms and sometimes conflicting guidelines for therapy in the care of patients with adrenal insufficiency.

Review the symptoms of cortisol and adrenal androgen deficiencies in the setting of both primary and secondary AI, symptoms only seen in primary AI, guidelines for laboratory testing, and to review the various treatment options, including systemic steroid, and how to use laboratory test and symptom assessment to guide titration of treatments.

  4. Explain consideration of special circumstances: management in the presence of pregnancy or in the perioperative setting.
