Objectives
- Review of medication options for treatment of opioid use disorder.
- Review of special considerations in the setting of ongoing fentanyl epidemic.
- Review of the drug supply as a complicating factor: xylaxine, fentanyl analogues.
- Review of long acting buprenorphine as effective treatment options for OUD.
- Review of current guidelines for management of perioperative management of patients taking maintenance buprenorphine.
- Acknowledge and address the barrier that stigma presents in preventing patients with OUD from receiving high quality, evidence based care.
